UPDATE: Thousands In Damages After North Side Crash

Damages expected to exceed $300,000 after a pickup truck hit multiple vehicles and at least one building during a north side crash.

Police were called to the scene on Kenogami Avenue and Red River Road on Monday afternoon and found an injured pedestrian along with extensive damage to a home, vehicles and a property line fence.

The driver had fled on foot, but officers were able to identify the likely driver and arrest him.

Thunder Bay Police tested the 36-year-old Thunder Bay man and it was confirmed that his blood alcohol was close to triple the legal limit.

The walker was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) for treatment of a broken leg.

Five charges are pending against the local resident including drunk driving and dangerous operation of a vehicle.

There was no indication if the driver has valid insured the time of the incident.
