Lakehead University is cash an influx of cash from the province.
The post secondary institution is getting $5.5M to further the research programming of Enhancing Prevention of Injury and Disability @ Work (EPID@Work) Research Institute. The money will go towards funding more research into reducing the stigma of mental health issues in the work place, as well as injury prevention for vulnerable workers in Northwestern Ontario.
The project will be funded over five years and will also contribute to understanding the experience of Indigenous workers in Northern Ontario and to provide them with more inclusive mental health supports and to prevent at work injuries.
