Boards Adapting To Delayed Resumption Of School

Virtual learning will begin Thursday in Thunder Bay.

Both the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board and Lakehead Public Schools released instructions for parents and students following the province’s announcement to close in-person learning for at least two weeks.

Lakehead Director of Education Ian MacRae said in a statement that devices will be available for pickup Tuesday or Wednesday and parents will hear from their child’s teacher on January 5th.

In a statement posted to Facebook, the English Catholic Board say these will be transitional days for students, staff and families to get prepared for January 6th.

Educators will communicate with students/families throughout the day.

Learning from home is scheduled to conclude Monday, January 17th, subject to public health trends and operational considerations.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
