City Issues Weather Alert

Lots of snow and gusting winds forced the city of Thunder Bay to issue a weather alert.

It’s part of the COVID-19 Severe Weather Response Plan, and comes as Northwestern Ontario is under a snowfall warning and a winter weather travel advisory.

Make sure to check in with vulnerable friends, neighbours and family.

Shelters and warming services will be available, which are the Salvation Army and Shelter House, the Out of the Cold Program at Grace Place, and the Warming Centre at PACE.

If you see someone on the street who needs outreach assistance, you can call SOS at 620-7678.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
