UPDATE: No Injuries After House Fire

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a house on fire on Market Street Friday afternoon.

The call came in from the owner who reported her home was on fire. The initial fire crew responded within minutes of the dispatch.

Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the main floor. They were quick to fight the blaze and a hose line was deployed to where they believe it started.

There was significant fire, water, and smoke damage to the interior of the home.

A thorough search was conducted of the home, and two dogs were found safely and taken care by fire fighters.

The occupant of the home had no injuries. She was helped by Superior North EMS until her family members arrived.

A total of six pumpers, one aerial ladder, and one command vehicle responded.

Homeowners are reminded working smoke detectors save lives.
