Moving Up COVID-19 Booster Shot Eligibility

The province is ramping up the eligibility for booster doses against COVID-19.

In response to the Omicron variant, Premier Doug Ford announced Wednesday a pair of measures, including allowing anyone 18 and older to make an appointment for the third shot starting at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, December 20th.

A three-month interval has to have passed since your second dose in order to be eligible.

Bookings can be made through the province’s online portal, through either the Thunder Bay District or Northwestern Health Unit‘s website or at select pharmacies.

The province is also implementing a capacity limit at certain indoor venues starting at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday December 18th, including:

  • Facilities used for sports and recreational fitness activities
  • Entertainment facilities such as concert venues, theatres and cinemas
  • Racing venues
  • Meeting and event spaces
  • Studio audiences in commercial film and television production
  • Museums
  • Galleries
  • Aquariums
  • Zoos
  • Science centres
  • Landmarks
  • Historic sites
  • Botanical gardens and similar attractions
  • Casinos
  • Bingo halls and other gaming establishments
  • Fair, rural exhibitions, and festivals

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
