Under 10 New Cases In Thunder Bay

A relatively low number when it comes to COVID-19 cases.

The Thunder Bay Health Unit is reporting nine new cases Wednesday with seven resolved.

Five of the new cases were a result of contact within a household, one was from travel outside of Northwestern Ontario, and the cause of the other three are currently considered pending.

The active case count is now at 66.

In the schools, there are seven active cases of COVID-19 within Lakehead Public Schools and 25 in the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board.

Ontario is reporting the 1,808 new cases of the virus with 664 coming from the unvaccinated and 98 with an unknown vaccination status.

90.3 per cent of Ontarians have one dose of the vaccine, while 87.7 per cent are fully vaccinated.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
