Thunder Bay Police have arrested a man after a pair of south-side convenience store robberies.

The same man was then found to be connected to four other recent armed robberies in the city.

Police were sent to a Circle K on Simpson Street Thursday morning, and learned the suspect entered the store armed with a knife before demanding cash and store merchandise. The accused then fled the scene, but was located minutes later on Heron Street.

Further investigation led to police connecting him to other robberies that occurred between Nov. 22 and Dec. 9 at various Circle K locations in the Simpson and Arthur Street areas.

Joshua Robert Ottertail, 30, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:• Robbery with a Weapon x 6• Disguise with Intent x 6He appeared in bail court on Friday, Dec. 10 and will remain in custody with a future court date.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago.
