Arrest After Multiple Chases

Thunder Bay Police Service Officers were sent to a residential address on Cumberland Street on Thursday after reports of a disturbance.

Prior to their arrival, they learned the accused man left the area in a pick-up truck. They also discovered that he was involved in a Nov. 2021 pursuit which police called off because of safety concerns.

Officers saw the man travelling on Oliver Road, and he flashed two middle fingers to the officers as he fled.

Investigation led to police finding the accused man was at an address on Onion Lake Road. There they successfully, and safely, arrested the man who was transported to police headquarters.

Nicholas Joshua MARTELLINI, 26, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:• Assault• Mischief Under $5,000• Uttering Threats• Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle x 2• Flight from Peace OfficerThe accused was also charged in October with Flight from Peace Officer and Operation While Impaired by Alcohol and/or Drugs.He appeared in bail court on Friday, Dec. 3 and was released on conditions with a future appearance date of January 24, 2022.
