Outbreak Declared At St. Ignatius

A third local school in less than two weeks has a COVID-19 outbreak declared.

Currently, St. Ignatius High School has had two people associated with the school test positive for the virus. Investigation has led public health to believe at least one of these cases was obtained at school.

Anyone who may have been exposed has been contacted, and impacted classes and cohorts have been dismissed.

The school will remain open to in-person learning until further notice.

Public health, the school and school board continue to work together to investigate and manage this situation. Additional measures will be taken as needed. The school remains
open at this time.

As of the latest report, there are four active cases in the Lakehead Public School Board, and 29 confirmed in the Thunder Bay Catholic Board.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
