Santa Claus Coming Back To ISC

It’s been a few years since children in Thunder Bay have been able to visit Santa at the Intercity Shopping Centre.

That all changes on November 20th as the jolly old elf will return starting at 11:00 a.m.

“Kids will be able to talk to Santa Claus with masks on, but in order to get a picture of him they’ll have to sit in front of him on the plexiglass bench that we’ve made so they can lower their masks for that,” said Shannon Young, Marketing Manager with the Intercity Shopping Centre.

Young noted they’ve worked in collaboration with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit in order to bring back the annual tradition in a safe manner.

“We just wanted tio make what kind of cleaning protocols we needed to have in place. They (Health Unit) have been really good with that,” Young added.

COVID-19 Protocols

  • Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch areas on set
  • Hand sanitizer will be at the entrance with encouragement to use it before your visit
  • Maximum of 6 guests per photo session
  • Physical distancing of two metres

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
