Reimagining The North Core

Your feedback is wanted when it comes to Reimagining the North Core Streetscapes Study.

“Our ultimate goal is to help create a space in the Downtown North Core that is accessible and inclusive, but also a place where residents want to spend their time,” said Steven Murphy, Project Manager – North Core Streetscapes Study. “Resident input is essential to identifying what aspects of the pilot projects have been successful and to create a downtown that meets the needs of tomorrow.”

The study will help guide the redesign of the streets in the downtown North Core.

As part of the summer work, crews widened the boulevards along Red River Road and increased angled parking on Cumberland Street.

Also a one-way street configuration and increased angled parking are being piloted on Van Norman Street and Park Avenue.

You can have your say here until Monday, November 29.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
