The question of how many City Councillors Thunder Bay should have is coming up again at City Hall.
Monday night, Council is getting a report explaining how they could add a yes-or-no question on that topic to the ballot for next year’s municipal election.
At-Large Councillor Peng You requested the report, aiming for a plebiscite asking you whether to cut Council down to nine positions and eliminate the ward system.
Council already directed city staff earlier this year to get public input in time for the 2026 vote.
If they choose to put the question on the ballot for 2022, the report explains they would need to vote to cancel their earlier direction.
