Libraries To Resume In-Person Service

All four Thunder Bay Public Library locations will be turning a page and resuming services inside buildings.

While in-person services at the Mary J.L. Black and County Park library locations began on Sept. 7, the other two locations being the Waverley and Brodie libraries will also be welcoming visitors once again effective Sept. 27.

Currently, the libraries are operating 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday, but will see adjusted hours beginning next week:

Chief Librarian John Pateman says they are excited to once again welcome guests, and that they have remained busy throughout the pandemic.

“TBPL looks forward to serving our patrons in person again inside all four of our community hubs,” said John Pateman, Chief Librarian. ”TBPL has taken a safe and cautious approach to operating during the ongoing pandemic for the health and safety of our staff and the community. We have used this time to reset and reimagine library service at our two larger facilities and we look forward to showcasing the many changes and upgrades that we have made over the course of the past 18 months.”

The libraries will be working within public health guidelines with appropriate measures in effect such as screening, capacity limits, physical distancing, and mask requirements.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
