City Could Advocate For Truth and Reconciliation

City Council is being asked to advocate for the province to recognize September 30th as National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The day is now a statutory holiday for federal workers, and several provinces are also giving workers the day off.

The request is part of a motion from Indigenous Relations and Inclusion Manager Regina Mandamin on Monday night’s agenda.

It also asks the city to share the stories of residential school survivors and their families and communities.
