Local Man Charged With Aggravated Assault

An arrest was made after an assault in the city’s south side Thursday morning.

Officers were called to a home on Brodie Street South after being told an assault occurred, police finding the suspect who appeared to be hiding in the residence.

Police say there was also an injured male on scene, and that they found a cell phone that belonged to another victim as well.

The investigation shows that the victim confronted the accused in the home after they were causing a disturbance.

The accused then attacked the victim, assaulting him with an object.

Superior North EMS took the victim to Thunder Bay Regional though it is still unsure how serious the injuries are, while the accused was taken to Thunder Bay Police Services Headquarters.

The 43-year-old Thunder Bay man is being charged with:

• Aggravated Assault
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
• Possession of Cocaine
• Breach of Probation

The accused appeared in bail court on Friday and will remain in custody until another court date.
