This weekend marks 20 years since that horrible day, that we all know as the 9/11 attacks. Over 3,000 people died. 25,000 injured. Over $10 billion in infrastructure and property damage. I’m sure there will be lots of documentaries on TV over the weekend.
There is one that airs every year on CNN. It’s simply called “9/11”. A real-life documentary that wasn’t even supposed to be about the attacks. 2 French directors were allowed to follow a Manhattan firehall and a rookie firefighter over 9 months of training. A couple of months into filming the documentary, they ended up capturing the most raw, unedited footage of the 9/11 attacks. When it first aired back in March 2002, over 40 million people watched it.
If you have time this weekend, I hope you can find this on TV. Watch it. It’s truly remarkable.
