Mass Vaccination Clinic Closes

The Bora Laskin vaccine clinic is shutting its doors Friday.

“We’re seeing good first dose coverage rates, and we’re seeing that second dose rate has picked up,” explains Medical Officer of Health Dr. Janet DeMille. “We continue to deliver a lot of those across the Thunder Bay District Health Unit area, so it is natural for those sort of mass vaccination clinics to decline.”

Dr. DeMille went onto say: “We are still very much planning of the ongoing delivery through our clinic. We can actually see up to 1,400 people a day, and while we’re still working through appointments, we will be promoting the walk in model.”

Individuals who had vaccine appointments at the Bora Laskin building are being contacted by hospital staff the reschedule or find earlier appointments.
