Maybe Just A Bit Too Far…

Well this certainly grabbed a lot of attention this week! Gun company Culper Precision released a customized gun this week modelled to look like it was made from….LEGO! They dubbed it the ‘Block 19’ (it’s customized from a ‘Glock 19’) and as you can see below, it’s super colourful and looks a LOT like a toy. It is, in fact, a fully functioning automatic pistol. Not only did this not sit well with a lot of parents, they received a cease and desist order from the LEGO company as well. The pistol has since been pulled from their website. The company indicated that they were trying to open up a dialogue about how much fun gun ‘sports’ could be, but with the amount of gun violence in the U.S. these days, it just didn’t sit well with a lot of people.

I’ve never been a big ‘gun person’ myself, to each their own though. If you want to go shoot guns at targets, or if you hunt to feed your family, go for it! My personal opinion though is that making an actual gun look like a toy, is a hell of a lot worse than toy guns that look like real ones.
