Mauro Favours Early Step 3 Move

Mayor Bill Mauro is supporting the province’s early move to Step 3 of the Roadmap To Reopen.

Mauro believes the move is long overdue given Thunder Bay’s low case count, and gives credit to the community for their patience and willingness to follow public health guidelines.

“Thunder Bay and the people in Thunder Bay have been doing the right thing for a very long time, and when I have the opportunity I thank them for their work I do,” Mauro added. “We know our numbers have been really good for quite a period of time and I have advocated for a regional reopening on a number of occasions for some time now.”

The Mayor goes on to say this news is even more exciting knowing the restrictions that will be eased on businesses in the city.

“On behalf of the businesses and those that will be able to open in Step 3, clearly I’m very happy, it’s about time,” noted Mauro. “We’ll review what remains to be open, what is not open yet, and the city will communicate that in near time.”

Officials told Acadia News that the announcement is expected to happen Wednesday.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
