The Rainbow Collective is taking suggestions for a new list of businesses owned by members of the 2SLGBTQ community or their allies.
President Jason Veltri indicates the database will be something of a team effort.
“We’re going to kind of build off of Thunder Pride’s gender neutral bathroom list that’s been created, and we’re going to, obviously work with [the Collective’s advisory] councils to establish this list,” Veltri notes.
Veltri explains the venture is meant to make it easier to support members of the community by shopping at their businesses, but hopes it will have other benefits.
“I think it’s really important for our community to understand or know where they will be more understood, or they’ll be more accepted,” added Veltri.
Business owners can identify themselves, and the group is also accepting suggestions by email or private message only.
In a Facebook post, Rainbow Collective explains that extra step for nominations is meant to ensure owners are willing to be on the list before the information is made public.
