With more of us going to restaurants and other attractions, rideshares and taxi services say they don’t have enough drivers.
URide founder Cody Ruberto says that’s because many of their drivers switched to delivering food orders during the pandemic.
“It was an essential business. They helped a lot of people,” he points out. “Now that things are opening up, though, we all need to work together to make sure everybody has safe, reliable means of transportation.”
He points out restaurants are seeing fewer takeout orders and more in-person business, which could be very profitable for taxis and rideshares.
“From now until December, it’s going to be one of the best times in history for taxi and rideshare drivers,” Ruberto says.
Ontario is entering Step 2 of its reopening plan on June 30th.
