Two COVID Cases, Active Count Drops Further

After a recent uptick in COVID-19 cases, the Thunder Bay district continues to keep a handle on new diagnoses.

The health unit says there are two cases for Wednesday, and coupled with the six resolved, the current active count drops further to 56.

One is in a First Nation community, the other is in a district community.

The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre reported four of the eleven patients that they are treating for COVID-19 are in the Intensive Care Unit.

Ontario confirmed 411 new cases Wednesday along with 33 deaths.

The Ministry of Health noted 11 deaths were from April and May.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
