Man Rescued From River In Silver Falls

A man is in hospital receiving treatment for a leg injury after getting stranded while swimming in Silver Falls.

The Kaministiquia Volunteer Fire Department was aided by with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue and the Ontario Provincial Police in the rescue around 10:00 p.m. Friday.

Authorities say he’d been swimming in the area and hurt his leg, and was stuck on the other side of the river dressed only in shorts while the thunderstorm passed through the area.

Crews were able to cross the river and bring the man to safety.
