A Jump In The Active Count

A significant increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reports 21 new cases Friday, which makes the active case count jump to 75:

  • 16 cases obtained from someone else who had COVID-19
  • Four cases causes are pending
  • One case with no known exposure

13 cases are reported from First Nation communities, seven within district communities and one from Thunder Bay and surrounding areas.

Officials also report 16 cases that could be one of the COVID-19 variants.

In Ontario 914 new cases confirmed along with 19 deaths.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
