Forest Fire Risk Drops

The recent wet and cool weather has put a dent in forest fires in the region.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says while there are still 15 active fires, the risk of new fires sparking is mainly low.

The MNRF also expects to lift the order blocking all non-emergency personnel from the area around Willard Lake in the Kenora district tomorrow morning.

Crews there are handling Kenora fires #25 and #30.

However, the ministry is continuing a similar order around Kenora fire #27 north of Minaki until further notice.
