Transit Buses Cleared Of Bomb Threat

Updated 4:00 p.m. Wednesday:

Thunder Bay Police have searched 25 buses and found no explosive devices on board.

Investigators have cleared the vehicles and released them back to the city.

Transit service is set to resume at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday after authorities were called to report to a potential bomb threat just before 9:30 a.m.

An individual remains in custody, their involvement with the original threat is still to be determined.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
