More Rapid Tests for Local Businesses

Thunder Bay’s Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, has launched the COVID-19 Rapid Screening Initiative.

This means small and medium-sized businesses in the community will be provided with free rapid tests, crucial for detecting asymptomatic cases of COVID-19.

Businesses in the city are eligible if they employ 150 or less individuals.

Rocco Rossi, President and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, mentions how important these tests are in preventing workplace outbreaks and controlling the virus.

“Rapid testing is one of the key ways to keep workplaces as safe as possible during the pandemic as we wait for vaccinations to roll out. It will be an essential part of curbing the spread of COVID-19 in our communities so that we can get on the path to economic recovery faster.”

A test-kit pick up center has been set up at 100 Main Street.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
