Police Not Responsible For Death: SIU

Thunder Bay police have been cleared of any wrongdoing concerning the death of a man.

Ontario’s Director of the Special Investigations Unit says it was November 4th of last year, late afternoon, when city police were called to the Starbucks on Fort William Road, over reports of two people trespassing.

Police put one of them, a 55-year-old man, in a cruiser to drive him home. However, because the man looked sick, police drove him to hospital.

He died the next day.

The SUI has determined there is no reasonable grounds to believe an officer acted in a criminal way in connection to the death.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
