Thunder Bay To Receive Handsome Dividend

Tbaytel is paying the City of Thunder Bay a dividend of $18.5-million and a $2.6 million performance dividend.

The company just had its Annual General Meeting, noting the work it did to get through the COVID-19 pandemic, while also expanding its reach through Kenora, Dryden, and Fort Frances, helping customers and the community.

“I think ..a number of our product lines…were negatively impacted primarily on the wireless side, but the demand in our products particularly on the broadband side helped to make some of that up,” explained Togatigh.

In 2020, Tbaytel made over $200-million, from which the dividend is paid to the city.

The company also contributed over $458,000 to 95 groups in 11 communities through the Tbaytel for Good fund.

Highlights include the Special Olympics Winter Games, Hospice Northwest, and Tbaytel Neighbourhood Heroes campaign.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
