A decision will be made at Thunder Bay city council Monday night whether or not to replace the Edward Street bridge.
As Acadia Broadcasting first reported in January, city council will hear the recommendation from city staff is to replace it for just under $6.5-million, the lowest bid from local firm LH North Ltd.
As the city’s Director of Engineering Kayla Dixon told us back then, replacing the bridge became the more viable option after further inspection by inspectors.
The work is expected to start in May or June, with detours in place as that part of the road will be shut down.
