Active Case Count Inching Close To 70

Health officials report ten new cases as well as eleven cases with variants of concern.

No new deaths from Sunday and Monday in the Thunder Bay District Health Unit with another eight cases deemed as resolved.

The active case count is 69:

  • Five cases obtained from someone else who had COVID-19
  • Three cases with no known exposure
  • Two cases obtained through travel outside of Northwestern Ontario

The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre has just one of the seven patients that are being treated for coronavirus in the Intensive Care Unit.

The Northwestern Health Unit is dealing with 71 active cases with four new ones reported Monday.

In Ontario 3,510 new cases along with 24 deaths with officials indicating that the positivity rate on tests has risen to nearly 11 per cent, a level not seen since the beginning of the pandemic.
