There will be no strike by paramedics in Thunder Bay.
A midnight strike deadline was averted after Unifor Local 39-11 and the City of Thunder Bay reached a tentative agreement.
The new four year deal covers 108 paramedics with Superior North Emergency Medical Services.
Details of the collective agreement will not be released before the members can vote on it.
“The bargaining committee worked to ensure that this tentative agreement recognizes the dedication and significant role our members play in delivering life-saving care to the people of Thunder Bay,” said union official Rob Moquin. “While more work needs to be done, important gains were made to begin to close the gap between paramedics and other emergency service workers.”
