Teen Charged After Fake Gun Pointed

A 15-year-old boy from Thunder Bay is facing charges in relation to an incident involving a fake gun.

City police say they were called to the 900 block of Edward Street on Tuesday evening, to reports a teenager had pointed a gun at two other teens.

They found two girls were involved in a fight, during which time a boy approached, and allege he pointed the gun at one of the two in the fight.

Police add the accused then pointed the fake gun at another teenager who was filming the fight on her cell phone.

Police arrested the 15-year-old a short time later, found the fake weapon, and charged him with:

• Assault with a Weapon x 2
• Pointing a Firearm x 2
• Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

He was released with a future court date, and can’t be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
