NWHU Reports Another Five COVID Cases

A second straight day of five COVID-19 cases in the Northwestern Health Unit region.

The Dryden area is once again the hot spot with three new positives.

There is one case in the Sioux Lookout district and another in the Kenora Health Hub.

Follow up with the persons involved and their contacts has started and anyone who is identified will be notified directly.

There are now 39 active cases in the NWHU catchment area.

In a media update Tuesday, the health unit’s Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kit Young Hoon reported two more COVID related deaths.

Provincial data identifies the latest victims as a woman in her 50s and a man in his 80s.

Six people have died in the NWHU region since the start of the pandemic.

The Thunder Bay District is seeing a spike in numbers Wednesday with 34 new and 216 active cases as well as 1 death.

Ontario is reporting 2,333 cases and 15 more deaths.
