Premier Doug Ford is waiting for the call to stop using the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine entirely.
After federal officials restricted it to only those over age 55 due to reports of blood clots, Ford says he’s ready to take action.
“I won’t hesitate to cancel that in half a heartbeat, if it’s going to put anyone at [risk of] harm, we just won’t use it, simple as that,” Ford says. “But I am getting my advice off the federal government and [Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health] Dr. [David] Williams.
Ford says he would rather wait for shipments of other vaccines than allow the use of one that could have serious side effects.
