Teachers are thankful that school continues, even if it is only virtually.
Mark Bentz, who teaches in the Lakehead Public School Board, admits some students are struggling with learning from home.
“There’s a lot of distractions when you’re working virtually at home, and so yeah, it makes for a busy time for us as teachers,” he says.
The teacher, who also is an instructor at the post-secondary level, is looking forward to being back in a classroom with his students.
“But it is working, we are teaching students, and it’s better to have some contact with instruction than none at all,” he says.
The local health until extended the at-home learning last week due to the number and rate of active cases in Thunder Bay.
