Update: Man Injured, Leads To Standoff

City police are confirming a man was seriously injured after a situation involving a gun, which lead to a standoff outside a south-side home.

They say they learned about the man’s injury just after three o’clock Friday afternoon, when he went to the hospital. That lead them to investigate a home on Cumming Street.

Officers in tactical gear surrounded the home between North May and McKenzie Streets. Police add it ended around 10:30 and they have identified the people involved. They have not named any suspects at this time.

The Major Crimes Unit is now involved.

Police are still guarding the scene but say there is no danger to the public.

They confirm the man’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.
