District Confirms 47th COVID Death

The pandemic has claimed another life even as the district’s active cases decrease.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit says we have now seen 47 deaths.

Today’s update confirms 29 new cases and 54 resolved, for a total of 233 active infections.

The Health Unit says another eight people are no longer being treated for COVID-19 at the Regional Hospital.

Out of the latest cases:

  • Five people caught the virus from someone in their household
  • 11 are listed as “other close contact”
  • Seven had no known exposure
  • Six causes are still being confirmed

Ontario is once again reporting over 2,000 cases, adding 2,453 to its total today.
