Province Investing $3.7M For Vaccine Access

Ahead of the provincial budget reveal, Ontario is announcing $3.7-million to help more people get vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Minister of Finance and President of Treasury Board Peter Bethlenfalvy says they will work with local transportation companies to help seniors and people with disabilities get transportation to vaccine appointments.

He says more details on how the program will work will be released in the next few days.

Bethlenfalvy says they want to make sure those who are most vulnerable to the virus can get immunized.

“Often, they are without independent means of transportation. They may rely on accessible public transportation, and travelling long distance by taxi or ride-sharing is not an option. So we are going to remove this barrier,” he says. “We will quite literally drive you to your vaccine appointment.”
