Chambers Demand Business Friendly Framework

There’s a call for the province to revise the rules under its COVID-19 framework.

Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce President Charla Robinson explains the proposal would allow businesses, which must remain closed now, to open with safety protocols.

“So you wouldn’t be saying this business is open and this business is closed what you would basically be saying to the community is you need to reduce your contacts and because of that we will reduce the capacity at all public-facing businesses,” explains Robinson.

She notes the way it stands now the message from the government in the Grey Framework is to “Stay home” adding “They’re trying to tell people not to be mixing and mingling with the public.”

The Thunder Bay chamber has joined the provincial chambers and have sent a letter to Premier Doug Ford with their demands.
