Hospital No Longer Diverting Patients

There’s a little less pressure on the Regional Hospital.

The facility is announcing it is no longer diverting patients to southern Ontario.

Hospital officials say that’s because they’ve succeeded in reducing the number of COVID-19 patients in critical care.

There are a total of 38 people being treated at the hospital for the disease, including nine in intensive care.

That’s a slight drop from last week, along with a decrease in the number of people getting tested each day.

The hospital is at 80% capacity as of Monday, which officials say allows them to manage a surge of up to 10% if needed.
