MPP Demands Hot Spot Designation For Region

There is another call for the province to declare the Thunder Bay District a COVID hot spot.

Liberal MPP Michael Gravelle explains we are in a crisis because of the startling number of cases we have.

On Monday the district saw another huge spike in numbers with 51 bringing the active case count to 446.

“There is a distinction for the communities that are declared a hot spot. They are allowed to get extra resources and they can also move up in getting the vaccine so that is really important as well,” says Gravelle.

The Thunder Bay MPP adds he would also like to see more resources come our way to help us get through what he calls “this terrible time.”

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
