The vaccine rollout continues in the city with the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre the distribution point.
Hospital CEO Rhonda Crocker-Ellacott says there have been just under 12,000 vaccinations since the rollout began last month.
She adds the rollout was especially productive this week since they were able to vaccinate the health care workers in the community who were at the highest risk.
“We had 2,700 individuals vaccinated over a period of four days and over the past week we’ve done a total of 4,000 vaccinations,” explained Crocker-Ellacott.
She calls it “excellent news” noting it happened because the hospital was one of the first in Ontario to received vaccines in order to get them into the arms of people in Indigenous communities.
