Care Bus Reaching Out To The Homeless

Thunder Bay is working to reach the homeless and those at risk of danger during this pandemic.

City council, along with local groups including Not One More Death, have agreed to start the “Care Bus”, which is now driving around town on a specific with support and supplies to those needing it.

The Norwest Community Health Centre says part of the work involves trying to connect those who need help with social agencies, including mental health, addiction and emergency services. They’re also supplying food, clothes, personal protective equipment and harm reduction supplies.

The bus is designed to allow for physical distancing to ensure safety from COVID-19.

This bus is a result of action between the City of Thunder Bay and community groups.
