The province is shoring up the local arts and culture scene with over half a million dollars in funding.
It’s part of an investment of over $24 million being handed out to 140 arts organizations across Ontario, including three in Thunder Bay.
Magnus Theatre is getting $135,228, the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra is receiving $250,534, and the province is investing $125,438 in the Thunder Bay Art Gallery.
Lisa McLeod, Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries, announced the funding this morning.
“Providing the help they need is a critical part of our plan to support individuals, families and job creators impacted by the virus, while laying the foundation for a strong economic recovery,” she notes.
