UPDATE: Kids Learning Virtually Next Week

Switching to virtual learning to stop the spread of coronavirus cases.

Both the Lakehead Public School Board and Catholic District School Board have heeded the advice of the Thunder Bay District Health Unit and will switch to virtual learning for a two week period starting Monday March 1st.

Staff and students within both boards were sent home with their materials Thursday to prepare for the move.

The move comes just days after Lakehead Public School trustees voted to ask health officials to approve virtual learning.

Several schools in the city has been hit with outbreaks and cases of COVID-19 for the last several weeks.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
