Staff running the two city COVID isolation centres are getting help from the Red Cross.
St. Joseph’s Care Group helps run the facilities and spokesperson Nancy Black explains the organization has sent 11 people at a time when they are desperately needed noting coronavirus cases in the city have been running high among the disadvantaged population.
“It’s been a challenge in terms of providing and ensuring and securing sufficient resources in order to provide support to the individuals staying at the isolation shelters,” explains Black.
There are 85 rooms between the two centres housing about 110 people.
They were set up to help those disadvantaged in the city who have contracted the virus but have no were to isolate.
