A warning to look closely at any messages trying to scam you out of your credit card information.
City police have gotten reports about a text and emal scam that claims someone tried to log into your Canadian Tire Mastercard.
A link directs you to a site that looks nearly identical to Canadian Tire’s webiste, but it’s a fake.
Police ask you not to click any links in unsolicited emails like this one, and don’t give scam websites any information like your PIN.
They add that similar scams are also circulating posing as other retailers and banks.
