It’s the final push to see if the NorWest Arena will be considered a finalist for Kraft Hockeyville.
The nomination period closes this weekend with the top four communities being announced on March 20th.
Buffalo Sabres forward Eric Staal feels the pre-season game should involve Thunder Bay athletes.
“Between myself and Carter Hutton, it would be a ton of fun to be able to play an NHL preseason game in my hometown where I grew up. It would be a lot of fun,” Staal said.
The elder Staal feels if a team that features a Thunder Bay athlete can’t be made available for the game, than a Maple Leafs/Canadiens game would be a good substitute.
